Message from the President & Head of School

Dear Idyllwild Arts Community,

Transferring to a new school can be daunting for a teenager. Wondering how they look, what to wear, and whom they’ll meet are just a few of the questions that dance through their young minds. For most students, mid-year transfers happen for reasons out of their control. But our students leave their neighborhood schools, childhood friends, and even their parents in order to follow the passions that lead them to Idyllwild Arts.

This past week, Idyllwild Arts students returned from their much-deserved Winter Break. Joining them were newly admitted students from Mexico, China, South Korea, Taiwan, and the United States. It was easy to see the joy in their eyes as they met teachers, advisors, and department chairs, and made new friends for life. I often tell parents that Idyllwild Arts is not about the difference in schools, it is about the difference in their child. The testament to this statement is palpable when Idyllwild Arts students step onto our campus and are warmly welcomed by others from around the world who have made the same commitment and journey.

Idyllwild Arts continues to cultivate its unique environment and welcome every parent who wants their child to thrive and be happy. Students who choose Idyllwild Arts instinctively know, from an early age, that they are artists and they continually seek to create and connect with others who are just as dedicated to making meaningful art.

As we begin our Spring semester, we encourage you to attend the performances, readings, and art exhibits that are presented each weekend. If you can’t attend in person, please visit our YouTube channel, where we share orchestra concerts, student recitals, cabarets, readings, and more.

We are deeply grateful to the parents, teachers, staff, and donors who support this generation of creative, imaginative, and innovative teenagers. With your support, they are able to call Idyllwild Arts home. We know that doing so will make a difference in their lives.
