Did you know there are ways to support your favorite program at Idyllwild Arts now, that go beyond just making a gift of cash? Some of these gifts may have significant tax advantages. Please contact us at plannedgiving@idyllwildarts.org or 951-405-9549 for more information.

Real Estate

Tired of dealing with that vacation home, income property, rental, or plot of land you no longer need? Are you ready to be free of maintenance costs, insurance, and landlord issues, all while benefiting your favorite Idyllwild Arts program? A gift of real estate may be right for you.

When you give us real estate you have held longer than one year, you qualify for a federal income tax charitable deduction. This eliminates capital gains tax. And you no longer have to deal with that property’s costs, like taxes, insurance and maintenance. You don’t have to worry about selling the real estate. You can deed the property directly to Idyllwild Arts.

Please contact us at plannedgiving@idyllwildarts.org or call 951-405-9549 for more information. You can also include real estate as a gift in your estate plan by designating it as a bequest.

Stock / Mutual Funds / Securities

Enjoy potential capital gains and income tax savings by donating appreciated securities to Idyllwild Arts. Idyllwild Arts will sell the securities and the proceeds will go towards the program of your choosing.

Please contact us at plannedgiving@idyllwildarts.org or call 951-405-9549.

Give Directly from your IRA / Retirement Account

If you are 70½ years old or older, this is a simple way to benefit Idyllwild Arts Foundation and receive potential major tax benefits. You can give any amount up to $100,000 per year from your IRA directly to a qualified charity such as Idyllwild Arts without having to pay income taxes on the money. Sometimes called the IRA charitable rollover,  you may also see it called a QCD, or Qualified Charitable Distribution. This gift can potentially reduce your annual income if you are taking RMD’s.

Your gift will be put to use today, allowing you to see the impact of your gift now. You pay no income taxes on the gift. You benefit even if you do not itemize your deductions.

If you reached the age of 70½ on or before Dec. 31, 2019, you can use your gift to satisfy all or part of your required minimum distribution for the year. If you turn 70½ on or after Jan. 1, 2020, you can use your gift to satisfy all or part of your required minimum distribution starting at the age of 72. (Note: The RMD requirement has been waived for 2020, per the CARES Act signed into law on March 27, 2020.)

You can also name Idyllwild Arts as a beneficiary of your IRA in your estate plans.

Please contact us at plannedgiving@idyllwildarts.org or 951-405-9549 to make your IRA gift.

Charitable Lead Trust

Charitable Lead Trusts offer a powerful way to transfer wealth to the next generation while benefiting a charity like Idyllwild Arts in the process. You can place many types of assets into a trust that pays out regular payments to Idyllwild Arts for a specified amount of time, with the asset(s) then transferring to the recipients of your choice at trust termination. Put your assets to work in supporting your favorite charity while enjoying a tax advantaged way of transferring wealth to the next generation.

Please consult with your tax advisor. You may contact us at plannedgiving@idyllwildarts.org or 951-405-9549.

Bequests

Make a gift to benefit Idyllwild Arts in the future with as little as one sentence in your will or trust. Your gift can be funded with almost any assets in your estate, including cash, properties, stock, and more. You can designate the gift to your program or area of your choice. Please contact us at plannedgiving@idyllwildarts.org or 951-405-9549 for more information, and to let us know you have made a gift.

Beneficiary Designations

Making Idyllwild Arts a beneficiary of your retirement plan, life insurance policy, or commercial annuity is one the easiest gifts to make. You don’t even have to modify your will or trust.

There are 3 simple steps to make this gift. Please contact us at plannedgiving@idyllwildarts.org or 951-405-9549 with any questions, and to let us know you have made a gift.

  1. Contact your retirement plan administrator, insurance company, bank or financial institution for a change-of-beneficiary form.
  2. Decide what percentage (1 to 100) you would like us to receive and name us, along with the percentage you chose, on the beneficiary form.
  3. Return the completed form to your plan administrator, insurance company, bank or financial institution.

Charitable Remainder Trust (CRT)

Convert under-utliized assets into an income stream for you or someone you choose by placing them into a CRT, with the remainder at trust termination going to Idyllwild Arts, all while enjoying a significant potential tax deduction. Fund your trust with  cash, properties, stock, retirement plan assets, and more.

A Charitable Remainder Trust is a win-win gift, benefiting you or your loved ones now, and benefiting Idyllwild Arts later. Contact us at plannedgiving@idyllwildarts.org or 951-405-9549.

Retained Life Estate

Want to donate your home but you would like to continue using it? This gift will allow you to live in your home for your lifetime, but donate it to Idyllwild Arts after your lifetime. You continue to pay real estate taxes, maintenance fees and insurance on the property. Idyllwild Arts would not actually take possession of the residence until after your lifetime. This is an irrevocable gift, so you would qualify for a federal income tax charitable deduction for a portion of your home’s value, which could be very significant. Contact us at plannedgiving@idyllwildarts.org or 951-405-9549.
